Look What I Found

Look at these sweet little crocheted things I found at an auction house Saturday. They were having a half price sale on everything left from a recent estate sale. I get emails from them notifying me of upcoming sales, so I drove maybe just a little bit over the speed limit to get back here to West Texas before they closed at 6:00 -- got there at 5:45 -- whew. Would have been there a little sooner but, well, I stopped in Weatherford for more peaches -- I know, I know, but these are the best yet -- O'Henry's. This will make almost 2 bushels we've eaten and 'put up' so far this summer! Anyway, these cute little crocheted things cost $7.00 for all four.

I'm not sure what to do with the bigger round one (it won't lie flat so can't use it as a rug), but I love the bright colors for the Littles maybe? The little round pink one will make a cute kitchen rug for the playhouse, and the two little blankets will be perfect for babies and doll beds -- don't you think?

This one, I found a children's resale shop a couple of weeks ago (for $8.00) -- thought it would also be good for the littles to use in the playhouse also, or maybe I'll keep it in the house to use in their room? I just love them all -- so homey and cosy looking. I can just picture someone's granny crocheting away for people she loved -- kind of sad they ended up in an estate sale, but they'll be loved here.
Oooo, and look at all those books piled up on my bedside table. I have a terrible habit of doing that -- piles of books everywhere. At the moment, I'm reading The Blue Hills, by Elizabeth Goudge (again), Little Big , Jane Grigson's Book of European Cookery , Harrod's Cookery Book , Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business , among lots of others.
