Birthday Girl

This is me exactly ?? years ago today (hint - it was in the 50's - ack!).  I found this picture the other day when I was cleaning out a desk.  It was my 4th birthday (I think), and my mom was having a little party for me at our house.  When this photo was taken, we were all in the kitchen having cake.  I remember this moment so clearly.  My dad called from work to tell me happy birthday, and to say he hoped I was having a fun party.  I thought my dad hung the moon (just like all little girls I suppose), and you can see that from the look on my face, can't you?

Anyhoo, last night I dreamed I got my hair cut -- short -- really short, and I hated it!  I know I dreamed this because I am now waaaaay past the long hair expiration date for ladies of a certain age (and have those thoughts of mutton dressed as lamb lurking in the back of my mind), but sheez, I look awful with short hair (skinny face & neck -- not good!).  So, I guess I'll now have to start putting it in a bun a la Kate Hepburn, oh, but wait, that really looks just as unattractive on me as short hair.  Oh well, if that's my biggest dilemma on this birthday, I guess I'm doing okay for an old gal ;).

Happy Birthday! and many blessings on your "old" head. I wish you more Good Hair Days than bad in the coming year. Did you bake yourself a pie?

Happy Birthday, G!
Who cares about expiration dates? Yesterday I said to my girls, "I'd really like to look more like a hippie but how can I?" My youngest daughter said, "You could grow out your hair, I guess." Mine grows so fast and right now it's so in between. I do a lot of thinking about my hair, so I completely understand. Leave it long. It's lovely!

I am sure your hair is beautiful and you should wear it any way you like. Best wishes for a very blessed "new year" of life. ~Leslie

Happy Birthday!! What a sweet picture!! and I say if you love your long hair...forget about what they say about age and short hair!! I have found as I get older, I wear what I love, do my hair the way it pleases me and I am so happy regardless of a trend or "rule". LOL Makes me happy, makes me feel like me and it gives me my spunkiness!!! So wear that beautiful hair until you're 100 if you want. ;) Happy Day!!!

Wishing you very many happy returns of the day, Gigi. Gosh that sounds old fashioned, people don't say that any more do they, it tends to be Happy Birthday. Anyway, that is what I wish you, with love x

Hi beautiful mommy! I love this. You are so cute, then and now ;) I like what babbs said about doing what pleases you! She's cute. Be a rebel & love your spunky, long haired self ;)

I so wanted to do a birthday post to you yesterday. In fact, I intended to but Keith had two mid terms and several other assignments, so I didn't have access to the computer. Hope you know how much we all love you!

Xx

Happy Birthday !!!! I love the picture. As for the hair I've spent the last year trying shorter older lady hair and it wasn't good. Now that I'm back to my regular lenght I'm much happier. Don't change a thing, just enjoy yourself.
